Thank you. The service request has been received, and the office will be in touch to arrange a day for the visit.
The request did not go through. Please call (614) 426-1787 to schedule service.
Service Request
The form carries text only. Photos of the problem are welcome by email at office@cherringtonplumbingservices.com once the request is sent; include your name and street so they can be matched to it.
After the Request Is Sent
The office reads each request and replies by the contact method you chose to arrange a day for the visit. Before any work begins, the estimate is written up and what it includes is explained. If something unexpected turns up once the work is under way, you are called first and the options are explained before going on.
Rental Units and Businesses
For a rental unit, put the unit number in the service address, and say in the description who will provide access and who should receive the written estimate. For a business, mention the times when the work area is clear of customers and staff, so the visit does not interrupt the working day more than it must.
Requests by Email
A request can also go straight to office@cherringtonplumbingservices.com with the same details: your name and phone number, the service address, a description of the problem and the day and time that suit you.
Details That Help the Plumber
- Where the problem is: the room, the floor and the fixture
- When it started, and whether it is constant
- Which fixtures are affected, and whether others are fine
- Where the main shutoff valve is located
- Clear access to the work area, under the sink or around the tank
- Pets secured in another room on the day of the visit
In an Emergency: Shutting Off the Water
- Find the main shutoff valve, usually in the basement where the water line comes through the front wall, near the water meter.
- Turn a round handle clockwise until it stops, or turn a lever a quarter turn so it sits across the pipe.
- Turn off the water heater: switch off its breaker if it is electric, or set the gas control to pilot.
- Open a faucet on the lowest floor to drain the lines and relieve pressure.
- Keep away from water near electrical outlets or appliances, and move belongings out of its path.
- Call (614) 426-1787 with the location of the leak and what has been shut off.
